His Eye Is On The Sparrow

(Please mute the play list at the bottom of my blog so you can hear this beautiful song by Sandi Patty)

Has this been a difficult week for you? Have you felt discouraged, lonely, unloved? Let us take comfort in this beautiful song and His everlasting promises from His Word, “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Matthew 10:30, 31 (NLT)

I have heard from several people this week who have been overwhelmed by the many conflicts and battles that have been raging within themselves or their loved ones. Some are battling health issues; wayward children; work related problems; no insurance to pay for a much needed surgery; death in the family; some are overwhelmed by their daily struggles with life itself. My heart and prayers have gone out to each of these situations. I myself have been battling with the side effects of my illness this week. All these things can leave us discouraged, wondering when and if life will get any better; questioning if God really does care about our problems. The answer is clear my friend. The God who created the universe; who knows even when a sparrow may fall; the God who knows the very number of each hair on your head; this very same God cares and loves each and every one of us! “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” I Peter 5:7 (NLT)

Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 7:5, 6, “When we arrived in Macedonia, there was no rest for us. We faced conflict from every direction, with battles on the outside and fear on the inside. But God, who encourages those who are discouraged, encouraged us by the arrival of Titus.” (NLT). God is not only our Comforter, but He is also our Encourager! We see in these verses that God also sends others to encourage us as well. How many times this week have you received an email or a comment on your blog that just brought a smile to your face when you needed it the most? Was that a coincidence? No my friend, that was a God incident! The very God who thinks you are more valuable than a flock of sparrows sent that smile special delivery by way of a special blogging friend.

This coming week, when you feel discouraged, think of this beautiful song, His Eye Is On The Sparrow, and be encouraged because God really does care for you…and so do I.

Heavenly Father, though this has been a difficult week for many of us, may we all be greatly encouraged by the love and care you so graciously bestow upon us each and every day. Thank You Lord, for being our Comforter, and our Encourager. Amen.

You're right...."The very God who thinks you are more valuable than a flock of sparrows sent that smile special delivery by way of a special blogging friend. " This happened to me multiple times this week. Thank you for sharing this lovely song.

YES! An overwhelming YES to your questions! In the past 10 days I have been to the ER 4 times( many hours). I have had an aunt break a hip, a son with a serious abdominal injury and same son leave for college thousands of miles away-my first son to do so and still somewhat injured. I spent 12 hours lying on a hard floor with a dying dog. I have one son in a cast and his foot was diagnosed as worse and moved to a BIGGER cast after 10 weeks in the other. My aunt that I care for who broke her hip was put in an nursing home, then died within less than 24 hours after my dog died. I have discipline issues with one son..and reactivating my nursing licesnse to help out with crazy finances is proving VERY trying at best. BUT God is faithful. Thank you so much for your scripture. I am in a boat on waves that are tumultuous, but God is the one who will calm the storms of my life. And I trust in Him. Thanks for this encouraging song and post!

I remember the first time I heard this song. A friend sang it in a talent show when I was in about the 4th grade. I loved the words then and they still move me today. Great choice!
