Isaiah 41:10
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Many times through the years I have been fearful. I have been afraid of the dark, heights, rodents, and spiders. I can remember about six years ago when I was in the hospital with kidney and liver failure due to my chronic illness and side effects to the medications, the doctors were confused as to how to care for me so after 24 hours I was transported to another hospital. I was in a great amount of pain, edema all over my body, my skin was an ugly pale yellow, I was in and out of sleep due to medications. I was separated from my family while the doctors and staff worked on me performing a multitude of tests. All I could think about was that I was going to die without any family members beside me.
Not long after the thought of dying came to my mind, a calm assurance rushed over me and I could hear a sweet soft voice inside say, “Fear not! I am with you.” For those of us who know the Lord, Isaiah 41:10 is extremely assuring. It tells us why we are not to fear: 1) God is with us (“I am with you”); 2) God has established a relationship with us (“I am your God”); and 3) God gives us assurance of His strength, help, and victory over sin and death (“I will strengthen you, help you, and uphold you.”).
In God’s comforting grace and mercy He removed my fear that day and placed it upon Himself. He assured me that my life on earth was not over; He put within my heart a new purpose; to live simply; laugh often; and to love deeply.
Heavenly Father, when life’s trials and sufferings become so great that we are so full of fear and despair, may we run into your ever loving arms and rest secure in your promises that You are our God; You are with us; and You will strengthen us to continue to live for you another day.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

It is in knowing the fear that the joy of His comfort is all the more joy filled. Hugs to you.

What a wonderful and comforting verse! I went to Bible study today and that is one of the verses that we spent much time how. How precious of the Lord to bring it across my path again as a sweet reminder that He is with me.
Thanks for sharing from your heart!
Blessings!
Hi Michele. It's nice to meet you. Thank you for visiting my blog. I've enjoyed my visit here. I love it here in the Valley of the Sun, but my goodness, how do you stay out of it? My husband was the Senior Minister at the Lincoln Heights Christian Church on Lincoln Drive for 15+ years. We've been retired now for over 4 years. Now we attend Scottsdale Bible Church. I see you are with a Baptist church. All my Dad's family were Baptist however, I'm sorry to say he never went to church after he was grown except for a few times when he was visiting with us. His excuse was that when he was a kid they would have these all day meetings where one preacher would get up and preach until he got tired and then another one would take his place and he said when he got older he would never go to church. So sad.
Fear... it has been something that we have been working on handing over to our God in our family. Every time we get one fear given to Him it seems like another one pops up. I am working on a vinyl lettering for our living room that says: "Fear Not! Only Believe!"
Thank you for this reassuring text. I tend to be fearful about certain situations, but neeed reminding of God's power.
Thank you so much for your honest post! A great reminder in the verse. Blessings to you!
Yes, He is with us through everything and He comforts us when we need it the most.
Oh Michele what a testimony of faith ! I loved your scripture reference :)
YOU are a blessing!!
That is one of my favorite verses. One that I taught to my children when they were little to a "made-up" tune. Makes me sing it all over again. :)

I have also heard God telling me not to be afraid. I just love Isaiah. Even though there is a lot of not so fun stuff going on in there, something about the comfort words always touches my heart. For some reason I always find strength in Isaiah.
Thank God for ministering to you and sustaining you in your difficult times. Isaiah 41:10 is very comforting and encouraging. It is my great comfort too that God is with me and He gives me grace and strength to live for Him. Thank you for sharing this encouraging verse with us and your thankful heart. Thanks for your encouraging comment on my blog.
I have not heard from Gracie from Clay in the Potter's Hand. I am remembering her and family in prayer. Hope they are okay. Take care. May God continue to keep you very near to Him and bless you with His peace and joy.
Love this promise from the Lord! Thank you for sharing the verse and your heart with us.
Great post! I love those verses too.
One of my favorite verses of all time. And what a wonderful testimony. Thanks for sharing.
