Thankful Thursday - Lady Kitty

"For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5

Today’s Thankful Thursday post is in memory of my 3 year old companion who passed away this past Tuesday of congestive heart failure from most likely a rare heart defeat from birth. I know it must sound strange to dedicate a Thankful post to a cat, but Lady was my joy and constant companion. When one is chronically ill, a pet can be a source of comfort to them. She would follow me around like a little dog. Whenever I was in severe pain she would help take my mind off how bad I really felt by allowing me to pet and brush her beautiful soft fur. She loved playing “hide and seek”; I would hide my hand under the covers and move them around and she would try to gently pounce on my hand. She was a persistant cat who would always try to sneak some water out of our glass. For some reason she thought our water was special water and didn’t like drinking out of the “community water bowl” with the dogs. Whenever I felt lonely and needed to talk, I would share my inner most secrets with Lady and she never broke a confidence (haha). Lady was pure joy. I never thought I would love an animal like I loved her; she is and will be greatly missed. Thank you Lord for allowing me to have Lady Kitty; a faithful companion for a lonely chronically ill grandma.

Unfortunately I do not have a better picture of Lady on my computer right now. This picture is Lady with our 11 1/2 year old dog, Kylie.

I am so sorry for the loss of dear lady kitty. Animals can quickly capture our hearts, and become our family. I love you my friend.

I do not think it strange at all to dedicate a thankful post to a kittie. I am so sorry for your loss. We lost a dog awhile back...it is a sad thing. They are faithful companions and wonderful gifts of God.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have 3 little people with fur who I love dearly. I lost a dog last year to cancer and it was horrible. They love us unconditionally and are such a support.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Blessings friend!

Just this week in British Literature class, we've been studying poets. One of my girls read from Alfred Lord Tennyson: "'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."
How blessed you are to have shared this companionship and love with one of God's creatures.

Love you, sis.

That is a wonderful thing to be thankful for. Pets are great for all that you posted about. I'm sorry for your loss. I love the fact that she thought your water was better than what she was getting. How cute!
Hugs to you.

I came over here to laugh with your Friday's Funny, but found myself reading your tribute and crying. I too have a special bond with my animals and dread the day they part this earth. Even though they are "animals'" they have been that unconditional love and happiness that everyone desires in their life. So my heart aches for your loss.
