Visit other Mission 4 Monday blogs here

Today we have a very special guest blogger. Denise (Shortybear), is a very special friend to so many people. She has a heart to serve her Lord and others. One of her missions has been to educate people about diabetes. I have asked Denise to share her testimony regarding this most dreaded disease. Please make sure you visit her blog as well as the American Diabetes Assoc. for more information regarding Diabetes.

By Denise
Diabetes has definitely left its mark upon my life. As a child, I watched my oldest brother, and my sister deal with this disease. My sister was diagnosed with diabetes when she was only 9 years old, she is now 53. Which means, she has been dealing with this for 44 years. My oldest brother was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 16, he passed away on June 8th of this year from diabetes. He would have been 56 in August, he had been dealing with diabetes for 40 years. My sister, and my brother both have/had type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 1994, I was 31. At first, I only had to take pills as my treatment. But, the pills did not help, it got really out of control. I started getting very sick, and they ran several tests on me. They discovered, that I actually have type 1 diabetes. I have to take 5 shots of insulin a day. Diabetes has really taken a toll on my body, it affects everything. I am legally blind, have kidney damage, nerve damage in my hands, feet, and stomach. A skin condition on my scalp, 4 heart blockages. Diabetes is a very serious health condition, and it is for life. If you do not get tight control of it, it will take over your life, and sadly, may even take your life. My hearts prayer, is that one day soon, there will be a cure for this life changing disease. For all of you that suffer with this disease, or know someone that suffers with it, you have my prayers.

Blessings Michele...for sharing Denise's testimony to help others!

I am thankful that you came to link as well as Denise but that is all I have today! It's a busy week.

I think your entire blog is a source of great wealth in information and care for others beside yourself. You & Denise have suffered greatly yet choose to speak life! Thank you for your great concern & heart as well as all the information you share!

May Our Lord bless & bring healing!
Looking forward to anytime you want to share...hopefully more people will read Mission 4 Monday & begin to help others begin aware of how the body of Christ can be the arms, hands & feet of Jesus to a world that is hurting, suffering or unreached...in many areas.
