"God is working in you to help you want to do and be able to do what pleases Him.” Philippians 2:13 NCV
When your children are young, they try hard to make you proud of them. Their fumbling efforts to do the right thing come from earnest desires to make you happy. You know they cannot accomplish certain tasks themselves, so you make it possible for them to succeed with well-placed and subtle help using your wisdom as a mom.
When you follow God, He calls you His child and loves you as His. As much as you wish to ensure your child’s success because you love your child, God’s desire for your spiritual success is more than you can imagine. God’s earnest wish for you is to be successful in your faith, even to the point that He helps you have the desire to make Him happy.
When you try to please God, He will work His power in you to give you every advantage. He helps you make right choices and do what the Bible tells you. He draws you to read the Bible and to pray. He will even make changes in you to remove things that would block your path to Him. Knowing you have this assistance from God Himself, you can rest assured that although you make mistakes, He will work to turn your failures into growth and maturity. Allow God to work in your life, and you will make Him very glad.
Tell God you want His help doing the right thing. He will give you the power to want to obey Him and will turn your efforts into His joy.
Amen my friend.
He is faithful to finish the good work He began in me! Amen!
When my daughter was born, I would cry many times thinking about the way God must love me. I often compare her actions to my own. For instance, when I see her throwing a fit for something she "thinks is best" for her, I remain calm, but stern. I don't get angry, but I also don't give into her tantrum. I feel like Father God watches us with His eyes of compassion as we strive sometimes -- just waiting for us to stop our "tantrum" and relax in Him.
I am so glad He is faithful, Michele....Amen!
I'm so glad He can use us as we are.
I love your Precious Moments graphic! I collect PMs!!
