Painters often depict images of quiet streams of water, tall trees, and sunlight streaming through the leaves. When you see paintings like that, you imagine rest and relaxation and can almost hear the tiny noises the water makes. If you have visited parks and walked beside gently flowing water, you felt tension draining out of your body as you watched and listened.
God paints the same picture to tell you the kind of rejuvenation only He can do in you. In Psalm 23, He uses the imagery of quiet water to describe a place where you become refreshed from the inside out. This renewing is vital for everyone. God promises to address the worn-down and worn-out parts inside you by pouring new life into you.
This refreshing is for you. You need it. Life often brings rapids and white water into your life that leaves little time to rest and quench your thirst. When you pray, picture the quiet place God takes you. Let the tiredness you feel flow out, pray and receive a fresh flow of energy and focus. In the quiet place where you meet with God, recharge with His peace and love. Linger there and go back to the demands of your life filled once again.
Make time to meet with God in prayer. In that quiet place, let Him refresh your soul and give you new life.

What a calming, beautiful image and verse. Thank you. Happy WFW!
This is wonderful. The picture and the teaching. Water is an amazing thing for sure. I like that you pointed out how it can be a calming thing AND a magnificent thing too. Showers will come and we will pass through waters, but the state of our heart when we do so will affect how we receive it. You got me thinkin this morning. Thank you!
i'm so glad he can rejuvenate us!! the way he only can!
