The last few weeks God has been showing us the benefits of Knowing Him Intimately.
Here are the highlights of what we have learned so far:
Our study has shown us that Knowing God and His Son Jesus is the heart of the whole matter of eternal life. It is the kind of knowledge that comes through living contact and personal relationship. In order to truly know someone we must first know something about them; what they like, who they think, how they would act under certain circumstances. This can only happen though if that person reveals themselves to us.
How does God reveal Himself?
1. One way is in nature. (Psalm 19:1).
2. He also reveals Himself in history. (Daniel 4:17).3. Man’s conscience (Romans 2:14-16).4. Through Scripture. (cf. 2 Timothy 3:16; Matthew 4:4).
5. “in His Son, (Hebrews 1:1-3). (John 14:7).6. The Holy Spirit –(2 Peter 3:18).

1. Cultivate a Desire
2. Accept What God Reveals
3. Involve Your Entire Being. If we really want to know Him, it is going to involve our total person—intellect, emotions, and will. All three parts of our personality are involved in knowing God.

Some of the good things we will enjoy as our knowledge of God grows.
Power (Daniel 11:32). (Daniel 6:4-15). (2 Corinthians 4:7)
Peace(2 Peter 1:2). (Philippians 4: 5,6,7), (Isa 26:4; Php 4:13, Php 4:19).(Isa 26:3)
Wisdom (Ephesians 1:17). (Acts 4:8 12). (Acts 4:13).
Growth (Colossians 1:9 10). (1 John 4:19 (1 John 5:3; John 14:15).(Psalm 73:).
Freedom (Galatians 4:9) (Galatians 5:1 KJV). (2 Peter 1:3).
Everything we need to guarantee us eternity in God’s presence is found in our knowledge of Him. Everything we need to assist us to live godly lives here and now is found in our knowledge of Him. Everything! It sounds again as though getting to know God could be the most important facet of our Christian lives. What are we waiting for? Let’s begin to grow in our knowledge of Him.
Next week we will begin our study on Knowing God Intimately: The Attributes of God. I would love your thoughts and input as we study together.
