I sit here at my computer thinking over the 30 plus years we have had with my stepfather, Chris. He has always been a man of principles, integrity, and most of all love. That was the first characteristic trait I saw in Chris. From the moment we first met, I could see how much he cherished my mother. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for her, or the family. To this day he is the first to say I love you when you see him, or talk with him on the phone. He still thinks my mom is the most beautiful woman in the world. At 86, she is!
Well, his days are getting fewer here on earth. His kidneys are not working.... he's growing weary....he's going "home" shortly.....but this one thing we know.... when Chris does take his final breathe here on earth, he will be in the arms of his glorious Savior! Praise God!

Beautiful song sweetie.
Awesome song. I love to hear men sing in harmony. Just beautiful...& I knew i would see Bill Gaither in there. Great post.
Beautiful, Sis! Thanks for this.
Beautiful!! "Praise God, I'm going home!"
A time of sorrow, sadness and mourning here for us on earth, but also a time of celebration of Chris' life and the very fact that he is "GOING HOME"!! How wonderful to be able to say those words and know that He will be resting peacefully--no more pain, no more struggles--at HOME with JESUS!!!
Beth
Michele,
I called my husband in to listen to this and we were both immeasurably touched...beautiful song.
I have been praying for your family and your step father. Oh the comfort, Michele, to know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and "we are going home".
Love you..my friend.
Good Morning! I love that song! and the movie.
Hay welcome to my world. I know the body thing too. I am still marveling that I am able. I pay the piper a song and a pain killer but I am a fighting for the freedom to garden as long as I can
Hi there! Your step father sounds like a wonderful man!
Wonderful post!
The Lord rejoices in the death of His saints, and Chris sure sounds like one of those
This song always makes me cry -- and your words helped add the water!
Love,
Beth

Ohhh Michele...Awesome song & sung in such beautiful harmony!
:)"Going Home" may God lead & hold your step daddy Chris so close!
Both you & Marsha have such beautiful attitudes & perspectives!
May all these words bring comfort to your whole family & peace & as you so beautifully put his homecoming celebration! Prayers being held for you & Marsha with LIGHTHOUSE of PRAYER! Your loving words speak volumes & such a tribute! I've heard it said that the best way to love a child is to cherish their mother...you & Marsha
have developed that Godly spirit from moments you cherish. Hold on to those...and keep PRAISING GOD!
May He bring you the oil of gladness instead of mourning...
comfort as you grieve & the joy that comes in the morning!
