Legacy Moments - Living Your Faith

The focus word this week is FAITH

This weeks Legacy Moment question is this: How do you live your faith out in front of others? This includes your family and those around you. How do they see you are a person of faith?

What a thought provoking questions! Living your faith is a moment to moment way of life. It is making a conscious decision to be Christ-like in all we do. I am the first to admit that at times I fail miserably! Although living my faith in front of other should also be how I live when no one is looking too. Some of the ways I live my faith in front of others are: Praying with them; devotions; when my daughter and grandson were little we prayed and read the bible and bible study/story books...etc.(when they lived with us); leading them both to Christ (no greater joy); encouraging, uplifting, and admonishing my family and friends to live for Christ; speaking kindly to them; showing a joyful heart even in the midst of tribulation (though I know I have my moments of the opposite); serving the Lord together with them - teaching Sunday School together, Awana's, children's church, Child Evangelism, activities together etc.; showing unconditional love; showing others how special they are to me and Christ; loving, respecting, and honoring my husband and parents; voting by my Christian principals; fighting for the underdog and down-troden; Trying to Live simply, Laugh Often, and Love Deeply on a daily basis.

Dear Lord, I pray that I am leaving a living legacy for my family and friends. When life on earth is over, that you oh Lord will say, "Well done thou good and faithful servant" Matthew 25:21.

Not hiding Jesus. Being transparent. Letting my failures not be hidden by hypocrasy. Praying with people right when they have a need. Talking about the Lord and what He is doing in my life without putting it on or exaggerating. I talk to everyone as if they are a Christian...I just talk to them as if I were talking to a close Christian friend. "Today the Lord showed me...Today as I was praying. Oh we were struggling and the Lord led me to this verse." That kind of stuff.

Dear sister---you are doing more than just leaving a legacy....YOU are LIVING it! Right before their eyes!

God works through you. Through the clicking of the keys, through phone calls, hugs at church, smiles at the grocery store, cards in the mail...HE WORKS THROUGH you! and in doing so....He is showing others what it looks like to be obedient. What a beautiful picture!

There have been times when I knew that others saw Jesus in me and times when I wish no one could see me.

But my deepest desire is for others to know Him. If I love Him it can't help but come out in my life. Am I perfect....no. Would I want to live life without Him....No way!
And so the easiest way for me to share Him is to show them what He has done for me.And to let them know that He is not finished with me yet.

Thank you for the card you sent me today...very sweet. Loved it. Thanks also for this post. I just quit my job, & I have really been living my faith there...I may not see my co worker find the Lord, but I definitely planted some seeds.

Well, Michele, you've got to know that the title of your post made me perk! :-) Leaving a Legacy is obviously a tender spot in my heart, and as one of your commenters already acknowledged, leaving a legacy MEANS you have to live it out daily. Oh I pray that in spite of all my faults and human nature, that my boys and others will see more of Jesus than me. What a great post...and a great answer to a great question!
