Meaning:
Eternity means much more than is commonly thought. It includes three ideas. It means that...
(a) The nature of God is without beginning or end
(b) God is free from all succession of time and
(c) God contains within Himself the cause of time
For God there is no past, present, or future. He does not live in time, but outside it in eternity and, as the eternal God, He is not bound to time (Dt 33:27; Isa 40:28; 57:15).
God is the eternal “now”; He is the “I AM” (Ex 3:14).
Author, Adam Clarke says that Eternity is God’s signature—it is who He is.
His name “I Am,” conveys clearly His unconditional and sovereign existence and covers the idea of His constant presence (Ex 3:14) because He simply “is.” Unlike His creation who are bound by time with life that is brief and short-lived, the Creator is eternal. Everything in existence is dependent upon Him (Col 1:15, 16, 17 Col 1:15; 16; 17), always has been and always will be!
Scripture Support: Ge 21:33; Ps 90:1, 2; Is 40:28; 1Ti 1:17; Re 1:8. Isaiah 46:10, Acts 15:18. Lam 5:19 Isaiah 26:3-4 De 33:27 Ps 16:11 Ps 119:89 Isa 26:4 Jer 10:10 Ro 1:20 Heb 9:14
Conclusion:
Knowing that God is Eternal, think about how much we can trust God. Since He created time as we know it, (for us), He lives outside of time and can see the beginning and the end of our lives and the age of men and the church. So when He tells us what events pave the way and be a part of the end of the age, we can rest secure that those events will happen just as He described. More than that though, we can live with the peace of knowing that when we die we will be with Him forever without end. A day will be as a thousand years.
Application:
How does the Eternity of God affect your life?
For all of us as human beings, life is full of surprises. We never know exactly what lies around the corner, but while we do not know what the future holds, as believers in Christ, we do know Him who holds the future and for Whom nothing is a surprise. Since nothing ever surprises God, no problem I face is too big for the Lord who sees the future as clearly as the present.
Is there an issue or problem you have not given to the Lord because you think it’s just too big, or that He is too busy to take care of it for you? Give it all to the Eternal God. He already knows the outcome. The Eternal God holds our future in His hands. How does that make you feel?
Share a verse about our Eternal God.
Dear gracious heavenly Father, it is so hard to fathom eternity with my finite mind, but I have put my faith and trust in you, the Eternal God; with no beginning or end. You hold my life in your hands. There is no problem too difficult for you to bear because nothing can ever surprise you because you already know the outcome! Lord, I am so thank for your love and protection, but most of all, I am thankful for the eternal life you have provided and promised through your Son, Jesus Christ. May my life here on earth reflect You, the Eternal One. In Jesus name, amen.

Awesome.
Only God can be properly and truly described as being eternal. He is the eternal "I AM." "I am he who was, who is and who is to come.
This is a great post, alot to really dig in and learn, there is alot of info here, and can go on and on for sure.

Beautiful post. So well written. It is mind boggling is it not? It blows my mind...and in those moments...the ones you spoke of...it comforts me. Nothing surprises God. And the God who created time, who is timeless, loves me for all eternity...AMEN!
So glad that He is the "I Am" The beginning and the End. Awesome! As a child it was so hard for me to grasp that concept...now through faith it is something I just know and believe. Sometimes hard to explain to a child...but oh to have their faith.
So glad that because I am His child I can spend eternity with Him.
