If That Isn't Love

When my sister and I were kids we would sing together around the house. I had never sang publicly until about 35 years ago, when Marsha, Jim (my husband) and I sang together at church one Sunday. I was so nervous because I was singing "lead". Jim played the piano, and sang, and Marsha sang alto. I know that the only thing that kept me from fainting was the Lord! We made it through the song and people said we were good... I don't remember... I was too nervous! The song we sang was the one above; "If That Isn't Love". I'll never forget the second time Marsha and I sang this song, it was for our youth group, and I threw her completely off by singing her part! She just gave me that look as to say... "keep going...don't stop!". I was so used to singing with the piano, that when we had to sing to the guitar it completely through me for a loop and I just sang what she was singing!

Over the years I did get a little better, but I still get extremely nervous whenever I have to speak or sing. I always say, that I hope people listen to the message of the song and not critique the singer. The message of "If That Isn't Love" written by Dottie Rambo is so beautiful! I am so thankful for God's unconditional and unwavering Love!

He left the splendor of heaven, Knowing His destiny, Was the lonely hill of Golgatha, There to lay down His life for me.

Chorus

If that isn't love; The ocean is dry, There's no stars in the sky, And the sparrow can't fly. If that isn't love; Then heaven's a myth, There's no feeling like this, If that isn't love!

Even in death He remembered, The thief hanging by His side; There He spoke with love and compassion, Then He took him to paradise.

Chorus

If that isn't love; The ocean is dry, There's no stars in the sky, And the sparrow can't fly. If that isn't love; Then heaven's a myth, There's no feeling like this, If that isn't love!

A wonderful song! I started singing in church when I was knee high to a grasshopper. My dad played guitar and he would bring me up to sing. Such precious memories. If I would get to fast he would always stop and make me start over. How embarrssing!! I was sooo nervous that was why I would sing too fast. LOL He taught me so much.
Have a fabulous weekend!
