Day 2 Travel Journal: Part 2 – We’re still In Albuquerque, NM.
As I mentioned in the previous update, Jim was sick Sunday night. We rested most of the day on Monday. That evening for dinner we called some old friends who live here and woe and behold they live only a mile from where we are staying! To top that, they are moving Wednesday for Kansas! So we were able to get together for dinner and catch up with some old friends. God is so good! “All things work together for good…” Rom. 8:28. He took a bad situation and turned it too The Lord knew we needed to visit with our friends. We enjoyed our visit so much. They have 4 grown children and 13 grandchildren – plus last year they adopted a beautiful little girl they had been caring for in the foster care system since she was 3 years old. They are going by faith to Kansas where he is originally from and trusting the Lord to provide a home and job. We then came back to the RV to rest.
Day 3 Travel Journal: Praise the Lord!
It’s Tuesday, May 26, 2009; we are still in Albuquerque, NM – but…. The RV is fixed! We contacted a mechanic this morning, he said to have it towed right away and they would check it out. So we contacted AAA again, they towed the RV to the repair shop (only 1 ½ miles from the KOA we are staying). The KOA people were so kind to allow me to stay in their laundry /computer room so I could answer email and work on my blog. The dogs stayed in the car with the windows partially down (it was only 75 degrees), and the cat hid under the couch (she does not like strangers). By 3:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) the motor home was fixed and we were back at the KOA to spend another night then we will be on the road again tomorrow (Wed.). I do not know all the mechanical details, but we had to replace the fuel pump.
So thank you so much everyone for your continued prayers! Keep praying. We were told that the roads in Oklahoma are terrible! Our animals were not happy travelers’ part of the trip in Eastern Arizona and Western New Mexico. You would think that the major highways would be in better condition. One time before we broke down we hit a section of road on I-40 and half the cabinets, doors and freezer all opened! There I was trying to close them while I too was bouncing around! I’m sure I was a sight! LOL!
Our goal tomorrow is Elk City, Oklahoma. If you notice the map above, point C is Elk City, OK. The major routes we are taking are: I-17 N; I-40 E.; 1-44 E; I-70 E; I-76.
I’ll keep you posted on the perils of Jim and Michele. Until next time, keep praying, and have a wonderful blessed day

I read your "victory" post before I read this one, even in this little set back you have the victory!
Glad to hear the RV is fixed. It sounds like God's perfect timing for you all to be stuck there so close to your old friends.
You're in my prayers!
