I feel like I'm moving! I'm making lists; checking them twice; finding out whose... oops... wrong list...LOL... finding out I'm packing a house on wheels! Let's face it... I'm not camping in the woods and roughing it! I'm taking my blender for smoothies, toaster for my flax waffles, coffee maker for Jim (I don’t' drink coffee), and yes, we are getting old….we are taking our electric can opener because the regular kind hurts our hands! I know, you feel bad for us! LOL. And of course I am taking my make up mirror, hair dryer, makeup etc...! LOL Hey, I'm seeing people I haven't seen in a long time - I don't want to scare them! LOL. . And yes ladies, my husband says I am taking the whole closet too! Hey, a girl has to be prepared right? LOL...We are also taking our bibles, devotionals, books to read, and notebooks and our trusty old lap tops to keep in touch with the blogging world
As I make my lists and pack my necessities, I am reminded of how the Word of God tells us to prepare our hearts and lives in order to be witnesses for Him.
Ephesians 5:15-20(NLT)
"So be careful how you live, not as fools but as those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity for doing good in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts. And you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Colossians 4:5,6 (NLT)
"Live wisely among those who are not Christians, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and effective so that you will have the right answer for everyone."
As many of us prepare to go on vacations this summer, let us remember to bring Christ and His Word with us. We are Christians 24/7 - 365 days a year. We may take “breaks” from our positions of service, but we never take a break from being a witness for Christ. We should always be ready to share Christ and what He has done in our lives. So as we visit family, friends and even new exciting places, we need to be alert and make the most of every opportunity to share Christ with those who do not know Him.
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask that you would prepare my heart as well as those who I come in contact so that they would open the doors for me to share Christ and what He has done in our lives. What a joyous vacation it would be if You used me as an instrument to bring even one of my relatives to Christ! So may You guide our conversations so I can always be ready to give the right answer and point them to YOU. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
This week I am thankful for:
I am so thankful that the Lord has afforded us the opportunity to travel across country to visit family and friends that I have not seen in years. My heart longs to see my mother and sister along with the rest of my family. I am so grateful that the Lord has seen fit to grant the desires of my heart. God is so faithful. I am thankful that the church has granted my husband the sabbatical so we can go back east for an extended vacation. Especially during this difficult time in my mother’s life, having to adjust to life without her beloved husband. I am thankful the mechanic said our old motor home is in excellent condition and that he would have no problem going anywhere with this vehicle. I am also thankful for all of you who have said you are praying for our health and safety. This means more to me than I can ever express. Thank you so much for your continued prayers.
