Jim and I have been enjoying a little site-seeing lately. The countryside is so beautiful.
On Friday we went out to a Japanese Restaurant in Lebanon, PA for our Anniversary celebration. We were well pleased with this restaurant.
On Saturday Jim and I were hungry for Mexican food. We have not had our Mexican food fix in weeks so we were dying here! LOL. We found a place in Lebanon again (near moms). It was a quaint little restaurant and the food was delicious and reasonable too! We had two chicken tacos with vegetarian black beans for $3.95 and mom had a taco salad for $5.95. She really enjoyed her meal too. We told the people we will return. Everywhere we go the people are so open and friendly. Later that day Jim and I visited my father’s youngest sister and her husband. Aunt Louise and Uncle Stan live in the house right behind my mom’s home. It’s so convenient for them both. We had such a nice visit.
Then on Sunday Jim and I went to church at Open Door Baptist Church in Lebanon, PA. So different from what we are accustomed to. Don’t get me wrong, we were blessed; it was just like we were back in time about 20 years! Very traditional in service (all hymns). It was a pleasant change. We had met a lady there that lives down the street from my mom. That is nice to know. Maybe my mom could go to church with her sometime. Pray about that since mom has not been anywhere in ages. After church Jim and I celebrated our anniversary by sharing a yummy Philadelphia cheese steak! Oh was that good! We then took a nice drive in country again. So much beauty to see. Then we came back to the RV and had a nice lazy day together.
On Monday we visited my Aunt Ruth (my mom’s younger sister)and Uncle Lew. They had a delicious meal for us but most of all we had a great time of reminiscing and fellowship. I used to spend a great deal of time over at their home when I was a kid. My cousin Luanne and I are only 2 months apart! We saw her last Monday and she and I just picked up as though we have never been a part! Oh, how I have missed family over the years!
Today, our Pomeranian will get groomed and I will make dinner for the three of us. Then we hope to go to Heaven tomorrow…. HERSHEY, PA! I can’t wait!!!
Thursday or Friday we plan on going to Gettysburg. An American History teacher should always visit there! Jim is thinking about going to DC on Monday by himself to visit the war memorials. I really hope he will go. He has wanted to do that for so long and we are only 3 hours away from DC. As you can tell, we are having a very enjoyable time with family and sightseeing.
We will probably leave here June 27th to head down to my sister Marsha’s in NC. We will spend a little time with them, then head home (AZ) after the 4th of July sometime. We are having a full and blessed vacation. God is so good! All the time!

just found this site, will have to come back to it after my move. Enjoy PA Dutch country. Right now I just finished a book by Beverly Lewis, who has done lots of Amish themed books. Great author!
