By taste and sight we both make discoveries, and have enjoyment. This is a warm invitation - "Try this, I know you will like!" When we step out in faith in obedience to follow God, we immediately discover that the Lord is Good. As we trust Him daily we should become "addicted" to the sweet smelling aroma of His Word.
Laurie over at Women Taking A Stand, has convicted me with her question and thoughts. Do I desire His Word, Christ, as I desire chocolate? Do I CRAVE His Word?
Taste and see God's goodness; take notice of it, and take the comfort of it. He makes all truly blessed that trust in him!
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for Your precious Word. May I crave your Word more than anything else in life. May I desire to not only taste Your Word, but to devour Your Word. May I always fully trust in Your goodness and grace. I also thank you heavenly Father for allowing my husband to travel safely across country to visit my mother, family and friends. I thank You for your watchful eyes and tender mercies. Thank you for my precious mother as she tries the only way she knows to pull it all together after the death of her beloved husband. Thank you for affording us the opportunity to be with her for the month of June. May we have a sweet time of fellowship. Thank you for the beautiful countryside of the Pennsylvania Dutch country. My five senses are on overload these days! So much beauty. Thank you for the precious time I have with my hubby. May our love and marriage continue to strengthen as we celebrate 35 years of marriage this month. Thank you for my precious family back home, Heather, Karl and Travis. May you continue to keep them safe and healthy. We miss them too, but may they find comfort and companionship in one another as well. Thank you Heavenly Father your Precious gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ Your only Son. May I always see that your Precious Word is a sweet smelling savor. Thank you for your goodness. In your precious Son's name, Amen.
