This Old Gal Ain't What She Used To Be!!!

I am exhausted! Last time we moved across country it was 20 years ago! What a difference 20 years makes! LOL!!! How did we do it!

I am so glad that last year we downsized from our 1800 sq ft home with 2 car garage full and Attic full of junk, to our 800 sq ft apartment! We have much less to pack! We are also downsizing even more! Not taking all the furniture and getting rid of stuff we have not used in a while. This past year the Lord has shown us how freeing it is to get rid of JUNK! It's amazing the stuff one accumulates over 35 years! When we downsized it was like a giant weight falling off our shoulders! I whole heartedly recommend that everyone re-evaluates your home, your life, your heart - Let the Lord show you what you really need!

Well, I need to get to bed so I can start packing again in the morning!! LOL...

I'll never forget when my husband decided to leave Tucson for a job near Dallas. My folks had moved from Myerstown to be with the grandkids and my brother and hubby's brother came also. We had been together for about 8 years but now we were leaving. We had just built what I thought was our dream home a couple years before. I loved my church family. But I had to submit even though I couldn't see HOW the Lord would work it out. We arrived on the heels of the worst flood the area had seen. There was no water. The rental house was terrible. I enrolled my son in the Christian school for the last month of school so we could meet some people before summer. Both my kids got their second case of the chicken pox and he saw two days of school. I had had TMJ surgery several years before and my surgeon said I HAD to get that teflon thing out of my jaw because it was killing people. I had to go back to Tucson a month later to get it done. One thing after another. But God worked it all out to His glory. It turned out to be the right thing for us. Looking back, I see all the reasons. But I remember keeping my little plaque in front of me that said: The real victory of faith is to trust God in the dark! I will be praying for your packing and detail stuff. Pace, pace, pace yourself! Julie in NC

I pray God gives you strength.

Love!

I hear ya. Every season change I get rid of a certain amount of bags that I set in my mind before I start...just so I can declutter the house. It all goes to salvation army or friends in need. It does feel so freeing.

Lord have mercy! I don't even want to THINK about moving for awhile! After we moved our learning center last year to the new facility, I don't wish to move for a LONG time!

Take it easy. Julie's right, pace yourself.

Love you.
