Put My Hope In God

"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God." Psalm 42:5
Hello my dearest friends!
I would like to express my deepest heartfelt appreciation for all of your encouraging words, emails, cards, love, and most importantly your much needed prayers for my family and I.
As most of you know we have been going through some trials, but we also know that we are truly blessed beyond measure! When I consider what others are going through these days as well, we know that things could be much worse. God promises not to put upon us more than we can handle. Lately I must confess that I wish God did not “trust” me so much! HA ha! I also must confess that there have been times I have had a pity party. Unfortunately for me no one wanted to join me so it was a party of one! After about two days of making everyone around me miserable, the Lord “slapped” me on the head and in my heart through His Words and through encouraging words and prayers from my blogging friends. I and my family especially thank you immensely!
I have a few updates to my prayer requests:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->1) <!--[endif]--> Two Sundays ago our car engine cracked on the way to church. Our daughter had been driving Jim to work (70 miles both ways), and a co-worker of Jim’s had been bringing him to my mom’s home and then Heather would pick him up there. This co-worker had told Jim about a ministry that loans cars to Missionaries who come home on furlough as well as help other people in full time Christian service. So two days after our car broke down Jim gave this ministry a call. The man said, “What size engine do you need?” Jim told him and the guy said, “We will see what we can do, I will get back with you.” One week later Jim gets a call from this man who tells him he has a “loaner” car for Jim to use until his car was fixed! He told Jim that he was able to buy another engine and that they would have our car towed to another place to put the engine in our car! It will not cost us a dime! Praise the Lord!!!
<!--[if !supportLists]-->2) <!--[endif]-->On my continual battle regarding healthcare - First, Social Security Disability – I have not worked long enough in the past 10 years to receive SSD. There is something called credits/point system for every year you work. You need 30 credits for SSD, and in the last ten years you need at least 20 of those credits. So whether or not I am disabled , I am not eligible for SSD. As for Social Security Income, with Jim’s income I am eligible for $91.00 a month. Considering we need much more than that, we will look into other avenues of income. Now, for healthcare – I have an appointment on October 8th at a free clinic with a doctor to check me over, go over my records etc…. then he will determine if I am disabled and qualify for medical assistance. So continue to pray. If I have to pay for my medicines the total retail cost is $1266.00 a month! So as you can see, we cannot afford that at all! I was able to get two of my medications I needed right away through a Christian Ministry in Lebanon. The rest hopefully will be able to be taken care of through this clinic or other agencies. As for my bipap machine that I MUST have every night when I sleep, the company that has supplied the machine the past 5 or 6 years, will send us a “hardship” form to fill out and send back to them; then they will determine how much I will need to pay if anything. Right now the cost of this machine to rent each month now that we do not have insurance is $471.00 a month! That’s right folks, the total cost of medicine and bipap is $1,731.00 a month! We have found some agencies and other ways to receive medications, but I will need a doctor from Pennsylvania to write the scripts etc….

So as we continue to wait “patiently” on government agencies to approve/disapprove etc…, we trust the Lord to supply ALL our needs. The other day my mother took me to a Christian Ministry that assists in a onetime only with medications. That is how I was able to get the two meds I was out of. Also they allowed me to go through their used clothing and get some free clothes for myself and Jim can go later for clothes as well. I was able to get a few long sleeve tops for myself. Unfortunately they did not have much of anything in my size. But they said they will call me if they get a coat in my size! So praise the Lord!

Continual Prayers:
Heather and family for their many needs as well.
Karl to get either another part time job to go with the part time job he already has, or one full time job.
Lord to provide a way for us to receive more income.
Healthcare for myself.
Good health for us all!
Internet – right now I have to go elsewhere for internet. The campground owner claims that they will put in cable this spring for Internet. So in the mean time we will have to go to the library or the General Store to use the Internet.
Both of our trailers will need to be “winterized” this month. Pray for funds.
Continued good health for my mother. She is truly amazing. (Stay tune for Friday’s Funny regarding my adventures with my mother!)
Pray that we can get Kylee’s bladder control medicine tomorrow at the Animal Clinic. She has to have this medicine.
Special “unspoken” for Jim all next week.
