Friday's Funnies - My Mother Scares Me!

My dear sweet mom who is proud to tell you that she is 86 and a half can also be a hoot to be around. Most of the time she doesn’t even know that she is funny! At the same time she can scare the pants off of you too!

On Monday my mom took me to my appointment with the Christian Ministry for some assistance. Now mind you, the town of Lebanon is the biggest town around us, but it is not that big at all, but it does have One Way streets. She not only went down the wrong way – not just once but twice that day – but she even pulled onto a one way street and then backed up the wrong way on another one way street! All the while I am holding onto my seat belt strap for dear life saying, “MOM! This is a one way street!” And mom’s reply….”That’s alright, I’m going one way!” Then she would laugh and say, “I can just hear the police offer now – ‘You have a one way ticket to jail lady!’

Oh Lord, protect my family! Lebanon needs to change all their streets to 2 way. They do have a large number of seniors you know!

When I was learning to drive, I didn't mind going 30 miles to Lancasster and driving all around there (usually Park City Mall). And I would drive all the up 422 to Hershey. But in Lebanon (closest to me) I would not get off Cumberland Street in any direction because I was afraid of those one way streets that popped up in such crazy places! So I don't blame her! I love her sense of humor...lol...but probably a good thing you moved back!

How adorable! I hope I can still drive when I'm 86...if I get to 86! Gotta love a mom with a sense of humor, at any age!

God bless,
