The Tender Side of God

"He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young." Isaiah 40:11 NKJV

Think of what you know of little lambs - wobbly, fuzzy, and knock-kneed. They are not strong yet, no more than young kittens or puppies, and they are extremely vulnerable. Imagine a shepherd who takes care of the lambs, carrying them in his arms when they are too tired to keep up, or too weak to walk. A shepherd cares for every need the sheep have, including protecting the ones who are expecting young.

God is our Shepherd. His caring for us is beautiful and deep. God knows when we are particularly weak or vulnerable, or when we are stressed and strained. He will lead us tenderly through those moments. There might have been times in the past we have felt all alone and afraid, but the truth is that He was always there, just as He is now. When we are physically drained or emotionally exhausted, God nurtures us with tender care.

When we face challenging situations, God will keep us in His loving arms. We need to pray to God and tell Him our fears and concerns, as He will keep us on a safe path, and see to all the things we need. God wants us to trust in His compassion for each of us, no matter what stage of life we may face. We need to tap into the tender side of God, and know we are safe.

When we are weak, He is strong. We need to trust God to protect and guide us at all times, for He is compassionate toward His sheep.

There is a beautiful Song that I love to sing, it’s called His Strength Is Perfect. There is a phrase that says, “…. His strength in us begins – when ours comes to an end – He hears our humble cry and proves again…His strength is perfect when our strength is gone – He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on – raised in His power His strength becomes new – His strength is perfect – His strength is perfect.”

Enjoy the song: To listen to this song, please mute my playlist at the bottom left side of this blog. Thank you.

Oh, my wonderful friend, how comforting that verse is to me and also your words, especially now. My son is 4 1/2 months old and I found out last week that I'm pregnant again and with my husband not able to find a job this is probably just about the most challenging situation I've been in probably ever, but I rest in His promises and provisions. Your words especially blessed me today and spoke right to my soul b/c I really needed to hear them. You have no idea how much!

May you have a wonderfully blessed Easter! Love you!
