pulpit Pastor Appreciation Poems and Thank You Sayings for Octobers Pastor Appreciation Month

When you think about it pastors are pretty amazing people. In my book they deserve a Pastor Appreciation Day (or a Pastor Appreciation Day… does it depend on how appreciate he is when you church decides?)
They are teachers, worship leaders, counselors, Sunday School teachers, preachers, entertainers, babysitters, hosts, pray-ers. They are there during the best of times and the worst of times.
Now I know. . . some of you have been hurt deeply by pastors who said something that was painful to hear and some of you have been told you something that maybe was not even theologically correct (since we are a chronic illness ministry, that issue of healing comes up quite a bit.) Some of your pastors have disappointed you when they didn’t know you were hurting, or understand the significance of it.They are human. And all of us will make mistakes. I cannot even imagine anyone doing it for the thrill, recognition or money. They must have that calling or passion.
And generally speaking, as someone who is a leader in ministry, I am in awe of how much is on a pastor’s to-do list each day and yet we still expect them to have an enduring, deep spiritual walk as well as meet all of our needs. Take the time to say thank you before the end of this month. It may open a door to a new friendship or communication. As we do with our doctors, we may tend to forget to say thank you to the ones we love the most. Here is one of my favorite pastor thank you sayings. You can find more Pastor Appreciation Poems here. Do you have any pastor appreciation ideas you’d like to share?

Pastor Appreciation Poems and Thank You Sayings for October’s Pastor Appreciation Month

Our Pastor

This pastor appreciation poem reminds us of the importance of pastors in our lives and of how we should respond.
Have you ever walked in our Pastor's shoes,
And gone where his feet have trod?
Have you ever thought of what he means to us,
And on your knees, given thanks to God?
Have you ever told him thank you,
For being there, when times are tough,
For comforting words and fervent prayers
When trials come and the storms of life are rough?
He answers our calls in the middle of the night
And tells us not to worry, for he will be there.
He gives up his comfort of quiet rest
And comes with prayers of comfort to share.
Have you ever thought to say thank you Pastor,
For preaching God's word to help us understand,
For all the times he has asked for things
That will lend us a helping hand?
When you pray, put him at the top of the list
And ask the Lord to surround him with loving care,
To give him strength and walk with him,
To help him with the burdens that he must bear.
Have you ever walked in our Pastor's shoes,
And gone where his feet have trod?
Have you ever thought of what he means to us,
And on your knees, given thanks to God?
