Too Many Harsh Words Over The "Debate"

Too many harsh words, hatred, prejudice and even violence has been made over the “debate” of homosexuality.  As a Christian, I thought I would share what God’s Word has to say, and let the Word of God speak for itself.

What God’s Word Has To Say Concerning Sin:

“Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality, Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.”   1 Corinthians 6:9-10  AMP

“These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.”  Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV)

“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:36  KJV

We Are Commanded to Love Others

“I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.”  John 13:34

“Dear friends, we should love each other, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has become God’s child and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love to us: He sent his one and only Son into the world so that we could have life through him.  This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us. He sent his Son to die in our place to take away our sins.”  1 John 4:7-10 KJV

"We love because God first loved us.  If people say, “I love God,” but hate their brothers or sisters, they are liars. Those who do not love their brothers and sisters, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have never seen.  And God gave us this command: Those who love God must also love their brothers and sisters.” 1 John 4:19-21 KJV

We Are Urged Not To Judge Others

Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Luke 6:37

God Forgives Our Sins – He Also Says – Go And Sin No More

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.” Isaiah 33:22

“When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:10-12

So here is how I am to live towards others:

1)      I love you because God commands me to love – For God is Love.

2)      God hates sin - so I should not like sin either.

3)      Only God is our Judge. Since God is the judge, I am to be a beacon of His love to others and in so doing shine that Light and point them to the ONE who can and will forgive their sin.

4)      God does forgive sin – but also says, “GO and SIN NO MORE.” Forgiveness of sin is not a licence to keep sinning.
