“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17 (NIV)
These past several weeks I have felt like the picture on the left. Of course most everyone else saw the person on the right; most of us are great at putting on a “face” when others are around. I say most everyone else because unfortunately my husband saw the person on the left all too many times these past few weeks!
I have been struggling with God’s promise to me back in February – His message to me was, “Have Faith – Expect Miracles”.
As Jim and I walk through the uncharted territory of both of us going through chronic illness/disabilities, no jobs, living in poverty and the list goes on, and on….. I began to take my eyes off the Creator of all things – the One Who holds ALL things together.
I may feel like I am falling to pieces – empty – broken- unloved, but through it all the Creator of the universe – my Lord and Savior, is holding me and my “personal” world together in the palm of His hand.
The Lord’s words to his disciples in Matthew are also meant for each of us today - “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV)
So as we struggle daily to keep a roof over our heads praying for funds to pay our bills buy food, gas and other necessities of life; I must hold onto my Savior’s most capable hands and trust in His promise to Have Faith – Expect Miracles. For my Heavenly Father knows ALL my needs – even before I do- and He will take care of me and my loved ones– in His time – in His way – because He loves us and cares for us.
So, I am loved – filled up- and made whole – because the Creator of the universe is holding me together with His loving and most powerful hands. Yes, He will continue to perform miracles in my life because I am His precious child. Forgive me Lord for my unbelief – Thank you for being my Provider, Helper, Hope and Savior.
